Is it necessary for Emancipet to have examined my cat/dog before I can order meds online?

Yes, your pet must have had an exam by an Emancipet veterinarian in the last 12 months in order for you to order medications online.

What types of products will I be able to order from the online pharmacy?

We offer a variety of heartworm preventatives, flea and tick preventatives, ear wash solutions, and skin care products. We offer many products that we do not carry in our clinics for your convenience such as Trifexis, Sentinel, and Heartgard.

Is a negative heartworm test required to order heartworm preventative?

We DO require a negative heartworm test to order Trifexis or Sentinel. Although, we recommend that you have your dog tested for heartworms every year, we DO NOT require a negative test for the other heartworm products.

Why is a heartworm test required for Trifexis and Sentinel?

These products contain a medication that can be harmful to dogs that currently have heartworms.

Are there any other medications with special requirements?

Only Comfortis. Comfortis cannot be given to dogs on a current treatment plan involving high dose Ivermectin. If ordering Comfortis from our online pharmacy, please make note under current medications if your cat/dog is taking Ivermectin.

Is there a limit to how much product I am able to order from the online pharmacy?

We follow these guidelines when approving prescriptions:

  • 0-3 months since last patient visit: up to 12 months of product
  • 4-9 months since last patient visit: up to 6 months of product
  • 10-12 months since last patient visit: unable to approve product until patient is  seen by our veterinary staff.

How long does it take to receive my pet’s medications?

It usually takes 7-10 days to receive medications in the mail.
