2021 Impact Report
It can be hard to find words to describe the challenges and complexities we’ve faced these last few years. However, it is not hard to find words to express our gratitude for YOU. Despite all the ups and downs, you have been there. Your support has meant so much to me, and has directly empowered us to serve more pets than ever before, at a time when the need for affordable vet care has reached an all-time high.
To be sure, we face a mighty challenge. Emancipet is chasing a bold goal that by 2028, everyone in the United States will have access to veterinary care they can afford. Getting there won’t be easy, but we do have some incredible partners in our corner who share our vision. I’m humbled to share that our largest funder, PetSmart Charities has granted us funding to open two new clinics this year – our third in Houston and our second in Philadelphia. And, even more exciting, both clinics will be inside PetSmart retail stores, allowing us to test a new and innovative way of growing our clinic network.
We have great challenges but even greater opportunities ahead. With this truly exceptional staff, board, and YOU as our supporters, I have not a single doubt that we will achieve our bold goal. Thank you so much!

With Your Help…
Even a continued pandemic didn’t stop the Emanci-crew from
reaching some impressive milestones:

Thanks to you, we had a year full of highlights.

“Affordable vet care is important to me as a small business owner, an artist, and just a human who went through the pandemic. My income basically disappeared overnight and that was a really scary time.
Being able to bring Chicle to Emancipet for what he needed was a complete lifesaver. You were there at a time when I really needed support.”

In October, pet-lovers across three major cities turned out for our annual
Pulling for Pets Haul-O-Ween competition.
It was people versus our 26,000-pound Austin Mobile Clinic, a Philly water ice truck, and a Houston fire truck in a race to muscle their vehicle over the finish line.

New York Giants Defensive Back Ryan Logan and pet influencer Keeping Finn helped
Emancipet offer a free Thanksgiving community grocery store for people and pets, just in time for the holiday.
Houston PetSet – a local nonprofit dedicated to companion animal welfare – surprised dozens of Emancipet clients this December, covering the costs of their pet’s care including 115 vaccines, 56 Spay/Neuter surgeries, and much more.
I could not be more proud of our staff’s dedication to our patients and this mission.

More Affordable Vet Care Is On The Way
Emancipet is partnering with PetSmart Charities and PetSmart Inc. to open two new nonprofit clinics in Philadelphia and Houston — directly inside of neighborhood PetSmart stores.
Because of these investments and supporters like you, a typical Emancipet clinic can offer up to 30,000 pet visits each year. That means within a couple of years, our two new clinics can add 60,000 low-cost or free vet visits annually – on top of the more than 230,000 we offer now. Thank you for believing in us PetSmart, and for helping make this magic happen!
