On May 11th, animal lovers, community leaders, philanthropists and volunteers will unite to
celebrate an incredible year. The Anniversary Luncheon is a time to reflect on our past
accomplishments, our growing resources, and to look ahead to what’s next for the team.
This year has been both emotionally and operationally challenging as Texas faced its most
catastrophic natural disaster with the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. In response, Emancipet Houston stepped up by offering free services for three months to local residents. The Houston clinic was up and running to help families and pets find safety and medical attention. The response was overwhelming and felt throughout the city.
As Kelly McCann, VP of Emancipet Houston expressed, “We at Emancipet felt very proud and privileged that we were able to provide such unprecedented free care and services to the pets our area.”
This year was also full of new clinic openings: Emancipet Philadelphia joined the family as the seventh clinic branch to open its doors. This clinic was made possible with a generous grant from PetSmart Charities and has been in full swing for almost a year. Our central Austin branch was moved to brand new, state of the art facility in the heart of the city. In this beautiful new clinic, Emancipet is now able to offer services like heartworm treatments and special surgeries.
This year brought forth it’s share of excitement, determination and responsiveness to our community now spanning from Texas to the northeastern US. We owe our success and continued ability to move forward in making vet care affordable to every family, to all our supporters. Without their support, none of these efforts would have been made possible.
Our Anniversary Luncheon serves as a reflection of what we have accomplished in just under a year and what opportunities lie ahead for us as we continue to grow and serve communities who need us most.
