Last summer, when Maria was visiting her son, she spotted a newborn kitten with a deformed leg dragging himself out of a garden of flowers. Despite his deformation, she fell in love with him instantly and named him Flower. Her heart went out to him, and she knew she had to take him home.
Upon returning home, Maria took Flower to their vet for a check-up. He was so tiny, weighing just 1.5 pounds at two months old, and needed a lot of care. The vet informed Maria that Flower needed to gain weight and get healthy for a surgery he desperately needed to ensure his deformed leg no longer caused him pain. They waited almost a year, searching for the right veterinary and surgical care. That’s when Emancipet came into their lives.

Successful Surgery
Thanks to Emancipet’s licensed veterinarians, Flower underwent a successful amputation surgery at Emancipet’s Austin Dental and Surgical Center. The ADS center provides low-cost surgeries like amputations, as well as dental cleanings and extractions at a low-cost. Today, Flower is thriving on three legs, walking much better, and enjoying every moment of his life.
