Petco Love has made a significant $100,000 investment in Emancipet to bolster our mission of providing affordable and accessible veterinary care.
This incredible grant will directly support our life-saving work in the regions we serve including – Austin, Pflugerville, Killeen, and Houston, Texas, as well as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It’s a testament to the dedication of our teams in these communities and the vital need for the services we provide!
Petco Love, is a national nonprofit leading the charge in making communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier.
The investment in Emancipet is part of $1.5M in grants recently announced by Petco Love for more than 170 spay/neuter clinics and other low-cost veterinary care providers to help increase access to veterinary care for pets in their communities.
The lifesaving investments are also being granted to reduce economic euthanasia, and the surrender of pets to shelters when families are not able to afford needed veterinary treatment.

Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love, beautifully stated,
“Petco Love knows pets are family and we strive to take care of them the best we can, though the reality is not everyone has equal access to veterinary care as many pet parents face difficult financial times. That’s why we are proud to support our partner animal welfare organizations in providing helpful services in their communities, so we can keep pets and their families together.”
Our CEO, Cheryl Katon, echoed this sentiment, saying,
“This generous life-saving investment from Petco Love is essential in providing access to vital veterinary services like spay/neuter, vaccines, and other affordable care in Austin, Killeen, Houston, and Philadelphia. With their support, we can continue to reach more pet families, ensuring they receive the care they need. We’re truly grateful for Petco Love’s partnership in helping us strengthen the human-animal bond through accessible veterinary care.”
Petco Love’s commitment extends beyond financial support. Their “Vaccinated and Loved” campaign successfully distributed three million free pet vaccines by November 2024, demonstrating their proactive approach to pet health.
At Emancipet, we operate a network of low-cost, nonprofit clinics, providing everything from essential vaccines and annual exams to spay/neuter surgeries and treatment for various ailments, including more complex surgical and dental procedures. Our dedicated team of licensed veterinarians and skilled technicians works to keep pets healthy and strengthen the bond they share with their humans.
This investment from Petco Love will empower us to reach even more families and pets in need, ensuring that financial limitations don’t stand in the way of essential veterinary care. We are thankful for their belief in our mission and their commitment to creating a healthier world for pets.
Together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them!
