Jonesy is the FIRST EVER feline to take home the Grand Prize – a professional pet photo shoot, Emancipet swag, and starring in our new merchandise design and nationwide newsletter! It’s a win for cat lovers everywhere.
Best of all, Jonesy, our runner-up Canela, and ALL OF YOU who entered and voted, helped us raise nearly $10,000 for pets who need vet care at Emancipet Nonprofit Veterinary Clinics.
Meet The Winners
Jonesy was born on the anniversary of Chuck Yeager flying faster than the speed of sound – and boy, does that fit his personality! He loves zooming up the stairs and playing fetch.
While his full name is Johansson Giuseppe Bigglesworth III, he insists that you call him Jonesy, after his hero – the cat in the movie Alien.
His favorite podcast is Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone and his favorite scent is string cheese.
His family – Jen and Greg – adopted Jonesy when he was 6 months old. All of his vet care since then has been at Emancipet including vaccines, microchip, neutering, regular checkups, and his flea and heartworm meds. He also has a sister, Goldie, who receives all her care from Emancipet!
Canela’s family – Sarah and Justin – adopted her after she was surrendered. They knew she belonged with the rest of their crew, and she has since “grown into a lovable chonky little gremlin.”
She may occasionally spar with her big sister, but deep down, she’s a loving pup who will cuddle any chance she gets.
Sarah and Justin wanted to send a special THANK YOU to all three Houston Emancipet clinics for their support and the work they do in their community.
