For more than a decade, Emancipet has been proud to serve pet families in Killeen, Texas. And now, with the opening of the new Juried Family Emancipet Clinic in Killeen, that commitment is growing even stronger.
This new facility marks an exciting step forward, allowing Emancipet to expand services, increase capacity, and better meet the needs of a community that has long relied on accessible, affordable veterinary care.
Rooted in Community Need
Emancipet’s work in Killeen began well before there was a brick and mortar clinic. In the early days, services were delivered through a mobile clinic, bringing care directly into neighborhoods where access was limited. The demand was immediate and clear.
In 2014, Emancipet opened its first semi-permanent clinic—a 50-foot gooseneck trailer made possible through a partnership with United Way. In its very first year, the clinic served nearly 10,000 visits from families with their beloved dogs and cats.
By 2015, that demand led to the opening of a permanent facility, expanding access to essential preventative services like annual exams with a veterinarian, vaccinations and shots, microchips, fecal testing, spay/neuter surgeries, and even dental evaluations to refer patients to Emancipet’s Austin Dental and Surgical Center in Austin. Since 2014, Emancipet has seen more than 208,000 clinic visits from pet families in the Killeen community.

Meeting the Moment with a New Clinic
As Killeen has grown, so has the need for affordable veterinary care, especially among veterans and military families who call this community home. The new Juried Family Emancipet Clinic in Killeen is designed to meet that growing demand.
With expanded surgical space, additional exam rooms, and increased capacity to treat large-breed dogs, the clinic allows Emancipet’s medical team to serve more pets each day. A new indoor lobby also ensures a more comfortable, welcoming experience for clients and their pets.
This is more than a new building—it’s an investment in the health and well-being of the entire community.
