Inside Emancipet

The Tito’s Distillery Dog Series is back. We’re sharing stories of the dogs who inspired Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s Vodka for Dog People program, created to support animals and the bond they share with their families.

Every year, Animal Welfare Week gives us an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations working to make life better for animals. It is also an opportunity to ask what meaningful animal welfare looks like today. For me, the answer starts with access.

For more than 20 years, our Levander Loop clinic has been at the heart of Emancipet’s mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone. It is where our journey as a brick-and-mortar clinic began, and where a bold vision for the future of veterinary care first took root. We are proud to celebrate the opening of the Amy Mills Clinic at Levander Loop; a new clinic space that honors the leader whose vision helped transform a single Austin mobile veterinary clinic into a nationally recognized model for affordable veterinary care.

At Emancipet, access to veterinary care is only one part of what we aim to provide. We want every person who walks through our doors to have a transformative experience where, yes, high-quality veterinary care is accessible and affordable, but where clients also feel respected, supported and confident in the care their pet receives.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka lives at the heart of Austin, TX, one of the most dog-friendly cities in the U.S. When stray dogs began making their way to the distillery, the people behind the vodka made it their mission to care for animals. Their Vodka for Dog People program was born, an initiative created to support animals and celebrate the bond between pets and their families. Animals like Justin, a rescued co-woofer who eventually found a forever home with a Tito’s employee.

When Flavia was looking for accessible veterinary care with transparent pricing for Tigre’s neuter surgery, she turned to Emancipet. Thanks to her initial experience with Emancipet, she’s returned to have all three of her cat’s surgeries completed at Emancipet.

With clear, transparent pricing and a focus on affordability, Emancipet made it possible for Nick and Maddi to move forward with Daisy’s care right away. She was microchipped, spayed, and given the vaccines she needed for a healthy start without the financial stress that delays many families.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, along with our partners at the City of Houston’s BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions, we hosted our first-ever large-scale drive through vaccine clinic called Pet Wellness Day. This event was rooted in our mission, focused on providing Houston pet families with the vaccines and microchips they need to stay healthy and stay together, free of charge.

Emancipet’s Pet Wellness Day Event in Houston is around the corner, and so is the opportunity to administer microchips to hundreds of pets. Before you pull up for this drive-thru event, here’s everything you need to know about microchips.

No two journeys to veterinary are the same, but there is something that all veterinarians have in common: serving animals when they need it most. For Dr. Jeremiah Nelson, a veterinarian at the Juried Family Emancipet Clinic in Killeen, TX his path in veterinary care ultimately led him to Emancipet.

A long, healthy life starts at the heart for our most trusted companions! We’re kicking off National Heartworm Awareness Month with key takeaways about heartworms–Everything from where it comes from, how it’s prevented, and how to treat it.

For more than a decade, Emancipet has been proud to serve pet families in Killeen, Texas. And now, with the opening of the new Juried Family Emancipet Clinic in Killeen, that commitment is growing even stronger. This new facility marks an exciting step forward, allowing Emancipet to expand services, increase capacity, and better meet the needs of a community that has long relied on accessible, affordable veterinary care.
